Augusta Prep earns prestigious AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award
Augusta Prep has been recognized with College Board's AP® Computer Science Female Diversity Award for expanding young women’s access to AP Computer Science A (CSA). Augusta Prep is one of only 237 schools to achieve this accomplishment for AP CSA for its work toward improving female representation during the 2023-24 school year.
According to the College Board website (https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/), "Providing female students with access to computer science courses is imperative to ensure gender equity in the field’s high-paying, fast-paced jobs and to drive innovation, creativity, and competitiveness. That’s why College Board is honoring schools for expanding access to AP computer science courses for female students in their communities.
"Schools receiving the AP Computer Science Female Diversity Award have either reached 50% or higher female exam taker representation in one of or both AP computer science courses, or a percentage of female computer science exam takers that meets or exceeds that of the school’s female population."
