Augusta Preparatory Day School has two full-service libraries and librarians to meet the needs of our students and faculty. The Lower School Library serves our youngest students as they progress through the fourth grade, and the Baird Library meets the needs of our students from fifth through twelfth grades. Both librarians continuously engage in professional development as the world of Library Science rapidly evolves. Our students are well grounded in reading fundamentals while being trained for a digitally-driven world.
Upper & Middle School Library
Augusta Prep continues to encourage students’ love of reading and learning in Middle School and Upper School through both formalized and independent library access. Baird Library has two fiction sections, one for our Middle School readers and one for our Upper School students. Middle School students heavily use the library to select fiction material during lunch and for Sustained Silent Reading, which occurs each day after lunch in their classrooms. Upper School students use the library throughout the day for independent or group work during study halls, and for research and class projects in the Phelon Collaboration Center.
